Our Profile
We are Missionaries from Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. We retired at the end of 2007 (Russell from the Department of Justice, Robyn from the Education Dept) to answer the strong call of God to the Nation of Vanuatu.
We are involved in the training of Royal Ranger Leaders, mentoring leaders, resourcing outposts and birthing new outposts. Russell has been appointed Director of Royal Rangers, Vanuatu. Robyn is involved in various aspects of Children’s Ministry including training Sunday School teachers. Russell also runs leadership seminars for Pastors and other key leaders in the church. He preaches in the various AOG churches on a regular basis.
Our first year was a year of challenge as we learnt Bislama, the universal pigeon language of the islands, and learnt about the ni-vanuatu culture. This was important as we rewrote the Royal Ranger program to make it culturally relevant for Vanuatu. This material has now been translated by SIL into Bislama. We have introduced an awards program that is centred around the indigenous culture here in Vanuatu.
This year we have been presenting Relationship, Sex and Purity workshops to the various Youth Groups around our city, challenging the youth to remain pure until marriage.
In 1977 we graduated from Crusade Bible College in Adelaide, and have spent the past 30 years in various key roles in our church. Our home church is Connect Church (AOG) in Bendigo, Australia. We spent many years involved in the Royal Ranger program, and the skills we learnt over these years are now being used for God in Vanuatu. We both hold Provisional Ministers Credentials (PMC) with the Assemblies of God, Australia.
We are parents of 2 girls (married) and 1 son (engaged to be married) in the Australian Defence Force, and grandparents to 9.
