This afternoon we returned home from our annual Royal Ranger Camp called “Camp Kamtugeta” at the IDS camp at Pango Point, approximately 15km outside Vila. 30 Royal Rangers and their leaders had a fun packed camp, plenty of food, plenty of activity and a powerful time in God. Keil Miamia was our camp speaker, the theme “It’s Time” taken from Hosea 10:12. Eight Royal Rangers made a commitment to follow Jesus at the camp. This is the first time we had some girls attending the camp.
Some of the Rangers made balloon launchers, and launched balloons filled with water, some went a great distance. Four court volley ball was played with a 5 ft beach ball. This game is always a hit whenever we play it.
The local Archery Club came along and taught the Rangers Archery skills. We appreciated their generosity as they gave freely of their time. After the church service on Sunday morning, the Rangers spent time on the beach opposite the camp waiting for the church buses to come and pick them up. Honeymoon beach is a popular swimming spot with the locals.
As we officially handed over our leadership of Royal Rangers to the local ni-vanuatu church early August, we took a back seat this camp. The camp was led by the new Shefa Commander and his Secretary, Kalfau and Raynold, assisted by their leaders. It was encouraging for us to see the fruit of our ministry with Royal Rangers here in Vanuatu.
