On Friday 3rd July 36  boys and their leaders travelled by bus and truck  to attend our very first Royal Ranger camp.  This was held  at  the  Scripture Union Camp at Pango Point. A very pretty area near Honeymoon Beach. Boys and leaders from 5 different outposts came to camp.

Our volunteer cook and his assistants cooked up delicious meals, our musicians, song leaders, etc helped make camp a great experience for the boys.

Our Speaker, Pastor Colin Flitton who has had over 30 years Royal Ranger experience, challenged the boys to “Grow Natora Character”.

Pastor Colin came over from Bendigo, Australia to minister at our camp.

After lunch on Saturday there was a “Slipper Soccer”  playoff, won by Evangel Temple Outpost. In the spare time available we saw many relationships developing between boys and leaders from the various outposts. Some outposts have decided to connect regularly for joint activities.

Saturday afternoon the Royal Ranger Boys made kites with Pastor Russell, while the Royal Ranger leaders spent time learning leadership  skills with Pastor Colin. They also used this session to pray for each other.

Saturday night started with a concert, followed by a powerful sermon from Pastor Colin. The Holy Spirit’s  presence was evident in the meeting as people were touched and prayed for. We saw 15 boys make first time decisions to follow Jesus, and at the end of meeting no one moved but sat in silence soaking up the presence of God.

Everyone left camp blessed and having grown more as a Christian and as a Royal Ranger leader.

The purpose of Royal Rangers is to REACH, TEACH & KEEP BOYS FOR JESUS.
