Bethany Worship Centre

We spent the weekend at Sama Village. Saturday was a full on day with Royal Ranger Leadership training and on the Sunday we ran the Sunday School program. About 70 people were in the morning service which was taken by two of the students from Joy Bible Institute.

The food prepared by Leah the pastors wife was delicious, especially the the manioc cooked in coconut cream, and the manioc lap lap was just as good.  We slept in the school house. The hospitality of the Pastor and family was so special.

Royal Ranger Training North Efate

Eleven  Young men and four  boys attended the Basic Leadership training day at Saama village on the north  coast of our island. Two of the young men walked one and a half hours from their village to attend. This group is planning to start in the next couple of weeks, and will hold their meetings on a Thursday.

 

New Royal Ranger Outpost

A new Royal Ranger Outpost started today at Evangel Temple in Port Vila with 13 boys.  There had previously been an outpost there  but it had  closed down.  Russell will run the group each week until he can train up a  Senior Commander. These boys are already looking forward to the Shefa Province field day which will be held on November 1st.

Pikinini’s having fun

After Good News Club  we stayed on for another hour and a half to play with the children. This time is just as important as the Bible lessons. We take along games equipment and it is heartwarming to see the enjoyment of the children. Living in a squatters settlement means there is  no money to spend on playthings.
