We arrived home after 4 weeks in Australia to a city in celebration mode. Today is Independence Day. The celebrations are going on all week.
This morning we went to the official celebrations at Independence Park. Very formal, with VMF (Vanuatu Military Force), VMF band, and Vanuatu Scouts. Thousands of people came to celebrate.
This afternoon the celebrations continued at the soccer field where there was a festive air. This carnival will continue into next week. The Ekoftau Family Worship Centre have a stall giving out gospel tracts, selling Bibles and other christian material, witnessing to the locals and providing a venue for prayer and counselling.
