Pango Royal Rangers has been operating for over a month now. The leaders were commissioned on 25th May. From a small start of 10 boys and 6 leaders, the last two weeks have seen an increase. 46 boys and 6 leaders are now enjoying the RR program.

We played some wild games. This one was a rely. Each team had to fill up their mouth with water, run and empty same into a bowl with a ping pong ball in it. The winner was the team that floated the ping pong ball out of the bowl first.

Father’s Day

June 18, 2008

The Francophone population of Port Vila celebrated Fathers Day on the 15th of June. The Anglophone’s celebrate it in September. Our pastor is French Speaking as are quite a few of the congregation. Last Sunday’s Father’s Day celebration went for over 3 hrs in the morning service. The Missionettes waited outside the church to give every father a salusalu. The Women’s ministry choir sang, the Missionettes did a dance, and sang to the fathers. The Sunday School did an item, and the Youth Group a Skit.  These are just some of the photos we took of a very special day for Fathers. The people of Vanuatu celebrate every event well.

Royal Ranger Leadership Training Day

June 14, 2008

Today Vanuatu and New Caledonia had a soccer match just down the road from JBI. Every time a goal was kicked, the sirens and cheers drifted up the hill to where we were kicking goals of another kind. Kicking Goals for the Kingdom of God.

47 Young men and women attended our first Basic Royal Ranger Leaders Course. Until now we had trained individual churches. Eleven churches were represented,  Seven of these churches are wanting to start their own Outpost. Four Outposts already operating sent leaders along to learn more about how to Reach, Teach and Keep boys for Jesus Christ. Over the next few weeks Russell will sit down with these new groups and help them plan our their first term.

The day was  exciting, with free giveaways of sports equipment. Hands on activities, parade, games, and devotion. Young men wanting to make a difference to the current generation of Ni-Vanuatu boys. Growing boys into Godly young men.

All in a weeks work

June 8, 2008

This week was one with a difference, Russell and our friend  Colin who is staying with us for a few weeks, started painting the Chapel at Joy Bible College. It was very shabby and needed freshening up. As our mission statement is “serving the Vanuatu AG church”  we often find opportunities to help out in different ways.  This is of course extra to what we normal do on a weekly basis.
